The Joint Security Service (Spanish: Servicio Integrado de Seguridad - ECU911) is a service of immediate and integrated response in case of emergency on the Ecuadorian territory. The unique phone number 9-11 was jointly established by the National Police, the Armed Forces, the Corps of Firefighters, the National Commission of Traffic, the Ministry of Public Health, the Ecuadorian Institute of Social Security, the Secretariat of Risk Management, the Ecuadorian Red Cross and other local organisations in charge of emergency watch. Number 9-11 can be dialed, cost-free, from any fixed-line or mobile phone, 24 hours per day and 365 days per year.
